My Big Green Fleet is delighted to announce that they are now able to offer clients a solar panel solution for welfare vehicles.
Studies showed that in 2018, the emissions generated by 34,000 refrigerated vans was the equivalent to 1.2million cars.
So we had to look at ways of reducing the emissions for these vehicles, one solution is for these vehicles to be fitted with solar panels, these will then charge the leisure batteries to power the refrigerated units.
Studies have showed that this has reduced the diesel emissions by as much as 98%, with the amount of refrigerated vehicles in circulation looking to increase by 5% this is a perfect opportunity to dramatically reduce the emissions of these vehicles.
One example of this is Gwent ambulance service who have invested £13.5 million to upgrade their 111 vehicles of which 33 of the non emergency vehicles have been fitted with solar panels to power equipment within the vehicles.
